argumentation I think that there is one massive issue in the sale of the UK forests that has been ignored. Payment for ecosystem services, forests are the biggest active carbon sinks in the UK and based on DECC pricing the annual value of this climate regulating service will be worth approximately £600 million per annum by 2020. If the forests are sold and a fully functioning carbon market developed (both government policy) who will profit from the "trading" of these ecosystem services?
